Product overview: Fluke 789 ProcessMeter™

Fluke 789 ProcessMeter™ doubles your troubleshooting power

The Fluke 789 ProcessMeter is the ultimate troubleshooting tool for electricians and instrumentation professionals. It combines the functionality of a full-featured loop calibrator with the power of a CAT III 1000 V, CAT IV 600 V safety rated digital multimeter, and the wireless capabilities of Fluke Connect connectivity with optional IR3000FC module. The 789 has a large, dual display with two levels of backlighting and externally accessible fuse and batteries for easy replacement. And its built-in, selectable 250-ohm HART® resistor eliminates the need to carry a separate resistor.

The 789 also has a built-in 24-Volt loop supply, which reduces the need to carry a separate power supply when doing offline transmitter testing. You can also add the wireless data logging capabilities of the Fluke Connect™ mobile app to log data wirelessly to your smart phone and review it from a remote location.

*Requires Fluke IR3000FC module (not included). Not all models are available in all countries. Check with your local Fluke representative.

Do a lot more while carrying a lot less

The 789 provides all standard DMM capabilities including frequency measurement to 20 kHz, Min/Max/Average/Hold/Relative modes, and diode test and continuity beeper. Combine that with the ability to troubleshoot every part of the loop.

Measure, source, simulate 4-20 mA signals, measure resistance, measure power, provide power to the loop and provide 250-ohm resistance to the loop. The 789 includes SpanCheck; 0% and 100% buttons to toggle between 4 and 20 mA sourcing, while the display can simultaneously show mA and % of scale readings for faster troubleshooting. It also delivers 1200-ohm drive capability on mA source.

Accuracy

This ProcessMeter offers manual step, 100%, 25%, Coarse, Fine, plus auto step and auto ramp. It also delivers 0.1% DC voltage accuracy and 0.05% DC current accuracy.

Does fluke make an ma clamp that works with the 789 calibrator?

Asked by: epco
We do not make a mA clamp that connects to the Fluke 789 ProcessMeter™. The 771, 772, and 773 are stand alone products.

Does the Fluke 789. Provide 0 - 10 vdc output?

Asked by: Edward
The Fluke 789 ProcessMeter™ does not provide 0-10 vdc output. We recommend the Fluke 773 Milliamp Process Clamp Meter or Fluke 715 Volt/mA Loop Calibrator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Fluke is kinda like klein it's just hands down the best way to spend a $1000

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice meter This is the second 789 meter that I have purchased. I liked the features of mA sourcing built into multimeter that I ordered a second unit. One less tool to carry around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Powerful Tool I purchased my 789 a few years ago and have never looked back. It is a solid tool for testing I/O and calibrating sensors. It is the only multi-meter that I carry other than the 773 Clamp Meter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Meter A very useful meter for process control. I can carry only one meter and do both 4-20 miliamps (measure, source and sink) and electrical testing. It is durable and rugged. Easy to see display. It can also do remote testing so I don't have to do arc flash protocol. My favorite meter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fluke's Legendary Quality My experience with Fluke products has made me come to rely on them for my job. I've used this meter for years in the field and liked it so much, I bought one for my personal use. It is great for controls engineers during installation and testing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Analog testing Used for testing 4-20 ma analog input module calibration. Easily setup to step through the ranges needed and determine bad modules. It is nice to have this functionality included in a meter that I would carry anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 789 Speeds Up Troubleshooting We use our 789 mostly for the ability to loop power 24vdc instruments and to send 4-20ma signals into our PLCs. This definitely reduces the amount of time spent troubleshooting issues by quickly allow us to separate issues between the instrument or the PLC side. The meter is one of the most cost effective tools we have in our toolbox for checking instrumentation and wiring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The tool I use the most I used to use a Fluke 87V DMM and a separate signal generator for process calibrations and troubleshooting. This meter combines both and is invaluable to me being able to perform my job quickly and efficiently. The built-in 250 ohm resistor feature is nice for HART communications too.
