Fluke 87V identifies complex signal problems fast.

The Fluke 87V Industrial Multimeter provides the resolution and accuracy to efficiently troubleshoot motor drives, plant automation, power distribution, and electromechanical equipment even in loud, high energy, and high altitude locations. A low pass filter supports accurate frequency measurements on VFDs and captures intermittents as fast 250 µS.

Use the 87V to measure AC current up to 10 A directly, or use an optional clamp for high current measurements.frequency to 200 kHz, plus % duty cycle, resistance, continuity and diode test. And it includes a built-in thermometer so you can take temperature readings without having to carry a separate instrument, and more. Plus, with its bright, two-level backlit display you’ll be able to see the results better in dim light.

Correctly measure pulse-width modulated motor drive signals

The Fluke 87V takes the guesswork out of drive system troubleshooting. It includes a unique function for accurately measuring noisy at the VFD and at the motor terminals. Special shielding blocks high frequency, high-energy noise generated by large drive systems.

Electrical safety

All the inputs in the 87V are updated to the thirdand CAT III, 1000 V. They are designed to withstand spikes in excess of 8.000 V.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from In My Opinion: Superb Meter Has Disappointments.. Meter itself seems to be fine; all ranges & calibrations seem nominal. Packaging indicates unit was manufactured within a month of arrival. Packaging also indicates meter was made in the US… but surprisingly, no ‘made in’ markings were found on the actual instrument. It irks me to have confidence in ordering a ‘Lexus’ grade instrument, only to be disappointed by: 1.) Low end stiff springy leads! Where’s the forever ‘fabled in story and song’ Fluke silicone leads? Yes the ones included are (TL75) Fluke branded, but look/feel ‘econobudget’. See photo below. 2.) No included printed manual! Whats with that?!? (If desired one can be ordered free of charge; and/or viewed/downloaded online.) 3.) No Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Certification! Unless I missed it, but close examination of the instrument & packaging revealed nothing. Meter does exhibit other certifications…. The above three surprises earned a two star rating reduction. It’s sad one can’t order and expect the best without having to scrutinize ad copy.

I purchased a new one this week and there's no certificate of Calibration? I assume Fluke wouldn't sell me an out of tolerance produce. And given their product line, knows the importance of a calibration certificate. So is the unit calibrated or not?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time will tell I had my company buy this specific meter to conduct ground resistance measurements and following the directions I still can't get a 0.00 ohms reading shen I short the test leads.. Also The test leads supplied had very tiny points. Now I haven't really looked to see if I can remove the plastic and find standard length tips underneath, but the log leads are great wish they had 3/4" probe length.
