Fluke 754 Documenting Process Calibrator-HART is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice all in one unit I bought this unit 2 weeks ago and went to use it as a hart communicator and noticed it does not support my new yokogawa yta and eja transmitters. It supports versions 5.1 and 5.2 but not rev. 5.3.11. I am disapointed in this meter as a hart communicator. I hope I can get updates for the hart DDE's that I need before my to projects start.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Won't provide bias power for a 24Vdc, three-wire 4-20mA sensor For $7000, I expected the world. I got all one could ask for... but for the little island I really needed. I wanted this unit to provide about 35mA of power to the +24V bias of my three-wire sensor and measure the 4-20mA output. No dice. It will do 2-wire loop power all day, alas, not three-wire. So, I'm stuck carrying around a 24V supply to power my sensor while the 754 meter reads the 4-20. I should have just bought a Hart Communicator for half the price and got a Fluke 789 for $900. The Fluke tech support said "This is the first time anybody asked for this feature." Really?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very limited HART functionality. Can't update or load "HART Device Descriptors" which means very limited HART functionality. Do not make the mistake of thinking that you can substitute the Fluke 754 for a HART communicator. For many devices, you will need to bring the calibrator AND a real HART communicator to calibrate the instrument. There are modern times and I feel that Fluke really dropped the ball here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but the HART needs work I convinced my boss to buy this over an emmerson communicator. Come to find out it does not support all specific device DD's. The first instrument I used it on it communicated HART fine but could not display all the DD parameters. I called support and was told that when a firmware upgrade came out it might support more HART DD's but they didn't know if/when this would happen. Had to use an Emmerson communicator after all. As far as a calibrator its great. The pressure modules and hand pump are great. The DPCTrack2 software is good to keep track of everything. Dont plan on replacing a communicator with this one instrument though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This does everything the 744 did; BETTER and LONGER! For well over a dozen years I have used the 744 and when I heard news about the impending launch of the 754 I was salivating like Pavlov's Dogs in anticipation! We have hundreds of 744s throughout all of our divisions and we are already over a dozen 754s. The advances you have made in the legibility of the display out in varying light conditions and the battery life are worth the cost of admission alone. You have gone well beyond there with increased precision and reliability, and now the HART works with all the Rosemount Transmitters; I'd say you not only hit a homer, but hit a grand slam!
