Fluke FEV100 vs FEV150 vs FEV500: Which One Should I Choose for My EVSE?
The data backs it up: IEA’s Global EV Outlook from 2026 shows that electric vehicle (EV) sales continue to grow, exceeding 20 million in late 2025. And with the continuous rise in demand, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) maintenance technology must also evolve to meet new standards, protocols, and customer expectations.
To help charge point operators (CPOs) keep pace and provide a safe and reliable service to users, we design specialized solutions for EVSE testing and commissioning, such as the Fluke FEV100, FEV150, and FEV500.
But which one should you choose for your charging station? And which one is the right fit for your workload and specific field requirements? This article will help you compare them and decide for yourself.

What is the Fluke FEV100?
The Fluke FEV100 is an award-winning adapter designed for testing, troubleshooting, and performance diagnostics of Level 1 and Level 2, Type 1 (J1772) AC charging stations. Built in compliance with IEC 62196-2 and SAE J1772, the FEV100 simulates the presence of an EV on site, allowing technicians to perform testing in combination with other instruments such as a digital multimeter or oscilloscope.
What can the FEV100 do for me?
- The FEV100 pairs with existing Fluke test and measurement tools to add EV-specific testing capability without requiring a separate all-in-one unit.
- The tool provides a protective earth (PE) pre-test to check for dangerous voltage in the earth, control pilot (CP) simulation to represent an EV presence during testing, and error notifications.
- GFCI testing, voltage, waveform, loop impedance, and insulation resistance measurements (when combined with necessary instruments) allow a full analysis of your charging station’s performance.

What is the Fluke FEV150?
The Fluke FEV150 is an all-in-one analyzer for EVSE inspections with Type 1 or Tesla-type connectors. Designed in accordance with IEC/EN 61851-1, the FEV150 performs safety, functionality, and performance testing of AC charging stations with comprehensible pass/fail test results.
What can the FEV150 do for me?
- The FEV150 combines DMM and scope capabilities in a single handheld unit, so technicians don’t need to carry multiple tools across sites.
- Built-in test plans guide users' step by step through a full maintenance inspection compliant with IEC standards, and pass/fail indicators on all measurement results.
- Bluetooth pairing with the TruTest™ software transfers test data for standardized reporting, easily accessed by technicians at any time.
- The FEV150 also includes protective earth pre-testing and GFCI trip testing for 6mA and 20mA circuits, compliant with SAE J1772 standards.
- It is eligible for Fluke Premium Care, which includes replacement of damaged accessories, cover for accidental damage and repair, among other exclusive benefits.

What is the Fluke FEV500?
The Fluke FEV500 is a field-ready analyzer for DC fast charging stations that combines safety and performance checks into a single portable device, without the need for additional test and measurement equipment. The analyzer is compliant with ISO 15118 and DIN SPEC 70121 international standards for digital communication between EV and EVSE and has been tested for compatibility with most major EVSE manufacturers.
What can the FEV500 do for me?
- The FEV500 performs six diagnostic tests in one tool: signal level attenuation characterization (SLAC), continuity, insulation resistance, load, insulation monitoring device (IMD), and residual voltage.
- It uses an autotest feature to run pre-configured test sequences with automatic pass/fail results, removing the need to reconfigure test loads or bring an EV on site.
- The touchscreen interface provides guided workflows for field use, and it automatically tracks and stores EVSE and connection point IDs to support asset management.
