Rosendin Electric deploys cutting-edge Fluke Accelix Technologies to streamline processes and improve access to reliable real-time data

Rollout of wireless Fluke Connect-enabled tools is a critical element in Rosendin’s drive to use the Internet of Things to take electrical commissioning to the next level

EVERETT, Wash., Jan. 31, 2018 – Rosendin Electric, Inc., a national employee-owned company and one of the largest electrical contractors in the United States, is deploying the Fluke® 376 FC True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter with iFlex® and Fluke 1587 FC Insulation Multimeter to all its commissioning teams at mission-critical project sites across the country. Those sites, which include data centers and facilities for large social media and technology companies, require cutting-edge technologies and methods to provide reliable, real-time data that can keep up with the pace of those businesses — the kind of industry-leading solutions that the Rosendin/Fluke collaboration will deliver.

The first rollout will be at the company’s Reno, Nevada, facility and will feature groundbreaking virtual reality training designed by Rosendin’s building information modeling (BIM) department as part of a true construction workflow. Other company sites will implement the technologies throughout 2018.

The Fluke 376 FC True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter with iFlex and 1587 FC Insulation Multimeter are enabled by Fluke Connect® — a system of more than 40 wireless test tools that communicate using the Fluke Connect Condition Monitoring App, a cloud-based solution that gathers measurements to provide a comprehensive view of critical equipment status. Fluke Connect allows technicians to record and share measurements in real time via their smartphones or tablets and automatically upload them to the cloud. Reports can be created and shared right from the job site via email. Fluke Connect also allows end users to collaborate in real time with other colleagues with ShareLive™ video calls, which increase productivity in the field.

“Rosendin’s collaboration with Fluke is a reflection of how both companies' forward thinking continues to raise the bar for the electrical industry,” said John Loukusa, superintendent of Rosendin Electric. “The innovation will allow our customers to see and review data in near real time from the moment the test is completed and will provide a consistent form that will be used on every project across the company without errors. The extra step that our field employees have to take in completing the paperwork after each test is ultimately removed. This is really just the beginning of how IoT and connected tools are going to make a significant change within the construction industry.”

“Rosendin Electric is one of the most innovative, trendsetting electrical contractors in the country and the deployment of wireless mobile Fluke tools and the Fluke Connect system will help them set a new standard in efficient building commissioning,” said David O’Reilly president of Fluke Digital Systems. “Fluke Accelix Technologies will enable Rosendin’s teams to capture reliable data and easily share it in real time with other team members as well as clients to eliminate duplicate data, streamline electrical commissioning and improve processes.”
