Using the Fluke Connect Mobile App it’s now easier than ever to manage your vibration screening workflow. Integrated machine profile functionality allows you to setup machine profiles using the app and then push them directly to your 805 FC Vibration Meter. Users can then use the list of machine profiles to create work orders, and develop route based maintenance schedules which can be dynamically sent to technicians in field, helping to ensure the proper focus on critical assets. Once a machine is tested, the 805 FC communicates the results directly to the app and associates them with the proper profile and route. This data can easily be shared between teams, so you can make better maintenance decisions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Tool but some drawbacks. We bought the Fluke 805FC to monitor and trend rotating equipment (pumps, fans, etc) in our facility. The device does a great job of taking consistent measurements and providing trend-able, actionable information in a user friendly package. We use a host of Fluke tools and this one is just as reliable as the others. It is also very easy to use and training my technicians on how to operate it was very easy. The software package on this device leaves alot to be desired. You have to set up all of your equipment in the device itself instead of in the Fluke Connect app or in a spreadsheet which is quite cumbersome if you have multiple assets. You cannot set up assets with multiple machine configurations in the same setup (ie, motor to gearbox to compressor.) If you remove the batteries, you lose all saved data including the setups and you will have to do all of this over again. Trending in the app is pretty good but could be better. You also cannot edit a setup so if you make a mistake, you will need to delete the entire setup and start over again. Not ideal. If Fluke could work out some of these bugs and make this more setup friendly, I believe they could sell alot more of these. I hope there are updates in the future to rectify some of these issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Device But Frustrating in Many Respects we purchased this for our preventative/predictive maintenance program. In the past, this prioritized the fans providing ventilation to our underground mine. With is device, we will eliminate third-party monitoring and fees and allow us to expand the program to include critical motors and pumps. This will pay for itself in the first year. Seems to be a quality tool which is synonymous with the Fluke brand. Easy to take measurements and to set up our equipment in the device. However, it would be far superior if this could be done on a tablet or PC with a little software or App. As it stands, you must set up equipment in the device and then set up your equipment in the spreadsheet, too; pretty arcane for the 21st century. Saving measurements requires lots of keystrokes to get them in the right parameter for the selected machine. Although they say you can select a setup and then save to it this cannot be done if you have multiple measurement points for the equipment (e.g. axial, horizontal and vertical on one or more bearings). Can't say much about the spreadsheet at this time, as we do not have a lot of data to trend, yet. As for Fluke Connect, this could be a powerful tool to manage measurements and equipment, but to leverage this one must pay big bucks for an annual subscription, otherwise you can only share measurements. Connection to our smart phones was not seamless and required numerous attempts. Once we did connect the first device only one of the saved measurements was transmitted. We looked at paying the fess but noted that setting up equipment in the App did not included the equipment types that you can select from the menu in our device. Apparently the App is more aligned for electrical monitoring than it is vibration. In conclusion, the App appears to be a work in progress for vibration monitoring and pretty worthless to us at this time. That being said, we like the concept, and we are convinced the App has tremendous potential. However, Fluke has a lot of work to do to migrate this to a tool that will be of values to us for vibration monitoring and analysis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful tool for industrial manufacturing I got this vibration meter to use at work in a manufacturing facility. We use it to measure the vibration of large fan motors and grinding motors. We input readings to our own spreadsheet and chart to track over time. When bearings get bad the vibration increases and we know it is time to get replacements in house before they fail. Works good, consistent readings, and reading can be saved in the on-board memory with different settings for reading the different types of tooling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Downtime Prevention in the Palm of Your Hand We purchased the 805 FC as part of our preventive maintenance improvement initiative. Unplanned downtime due to bearing and motor failures had become an increasing problem within our growing organization. The 805 FC has allowed us to establish baseline vibration readings on all of our systems. The wireless connection to the phone application makes data capture and tracking very simple an efficient. This data will be invaluable in forecasting and preventing unplanned downtime in production.
