To ensure your 1670 Series Multifunction Installation Tester includes all the available features, make sure you have the latest version of operating firmware installed.

*Note: This update introduces a new database structure. As part of the upgrade process, all existing projects stored on the device will be permanently deleted. Before proceeding, please ensure you have backed up any important data or projects you wish to keep in the TruTest software. Once the update is complete, these projects cannot be recovered.
The new firmware improves saving times, to facilitate this, projects now allow the storage of projects with a maximum of 5 distributors, 50 circuits, and 20 measurement points. For more details, please refer to the "Readme" document.
- Download the firmware update file.
- Unzip the downloaded file.
- Transfer the file to a USB-C stick*. Ensure the firmware update file is placed at the root level.
- Make sure the Product has at least 50% battery power available.
- Make sure you download all the logged data before you update the firmware.
- Place the USB-C stick in the product.
- Follow on-screen instructions.
Depending on the update, a firmware update may require several reboots and take up to 30 minutes. Make sure you allow enough time before you begin the update and wait until the Tester completely restarts.

**Note: Before transferring the firmware file to a USB-C stick, the USB-C stick must be FAT32 (32 GB or less USB-C stick recommended) or NTFS formatted. exFAT formatted USB-C sticks are not supported. Formatting the USB-C stick will erase all existing data on the USB-C stick.
