Product overview: Fluke 1664 FC Installation Multifunction Testers

The Fluke 1664 FC Multifunction Installation Tester helps expedite installations

The 1664 FC puts a lot of testing power in your hands to quickly and efficiently test to all local regulations, protect appliances, and share test results in real time over your smartphone.

Test EV charging station RCD type A-EV or RDC-DD DC protection devices

Perform tests on EV charging station DC protection devices using the RCD type B (smooth DC currents) VAR mode, which generates the test currents for RCD type A-EV or RDC-DD acc. to IEC 62955 (6/60/200 mA and ramp <2 to 6 mA ramp). This allows the quick an easy testing of additional 6 mA DC monitors on charging points and can be used in conjunction with the Fluke FEV100 or FEV300.

Protect appliances from accidental damage

The Fluke 1664 FC is the only tester with ""Insulation PreTest"" that stops the insulation test and provides a visual warning if it detects that an appliance is connected to the system under test. This helps you avoid potentially serious and costly mistakes that can cause damage to your customers’ peripheral equipment.

Auto Test reduces test time

Auto Test performs up to seven installation tests in one sequence, ensuring compliance with local installation regulations. This reduces the number of manual connections, thus decreasing the possibility of errors and reducing test time.

Save time and enhance collaboration

Because the 1664 FC is Fluke Connect®-enabled, you can send test results to your smartphone, save them to the cloud, and share measurements in real time with team members through a ShareLive video call. It's the fastest way to let your team see what you see, and to help you get approvals without leaving the field. Fluke Cloud™ storage allows you to retrieve stored results whether you are in the office or in the field to make decisions in real time. You get world-class data protection and can import the data, manage files transferred from instruments, or manually enter data as needed into TruTest™ Software to process and generate certificates quickly and easily. Designed to eliminate the hassle associated with traditional electrical system data management and reporting, TruTest™ Software is an ideal solution for producing easy-to-understand reports for clients.

Other helpful features:

  • Compact, lightweight (less than 1.3 kg) with padded neck-strap to free your hands

  • Offers additional high current loop mode for faster measurements than loop tests with non-trip mode for RCDs
  • Includes Z-max memory for loop tests to support easy evaluation of the highest loop test value
  • Provides unique zero adapter for fast, reliable and accurate test lead and mains cord compensation
  • Performs fast voltage measurement between L-N, L-PE, and N-PE using the mains cord. No need to change measurement connections
  • Measures RCD trip current and trip time in parallel (RCD type AC and A)
  • Measures PEFC or PSC and loop impedance in parallel and displays them together on the dual display
  • Offers ring testing so you can select the required input sockets with soft keys and not have to exchange test leads

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Losing faith in Fluke Have a Fluke 1664fc that is just out of warranty. Having intermittent false readings in the Hi current loop test showing 2000 ohms or showing 2000 ohms and then giving the true reading. Have checked leads fuse and batteries. Have also occasional others faults that seem to disappear. Fluke wanted £777 +vat and £20 carriage for repair. Cheaper to buy a new one just about. Have been using Fluke equipment since the 80s as a go to instrument. I have lost faith in there equipment. Once a meter starts to play up you lose faith in its readings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely ridiculous product and service I bought the 1664 after using the 1653 for a few years. After receiving it I took it to get independently calibrated as the results I was getting were inconsistent to the point I felt I needed to get it checked out. The fluke came with a calibration cert from fluke. I took it to re-cal in Manchester and they verified that there was an issue with the tester. I contacted fluke who advised I needed to pay for the carriage which was £50! I got the tester back after about 2 weeks and luckily I had kept my old tester as a spare, which is something I shouldn’t have to do after spending £1200 on a tester. Needless to say it’s had issues over the past three years I’ve had it and I’ve given up. I’ve moved over to di-log for all my testing equipment and the past two years haven’t had a single issue with their products! They are much cheaper than fluke and I feel they are more reliable, my frequent cal card results are spot on each time! For anyone looking at getting a reliable tester at a decent price try di-log in Manchester. Fluke I’m sorry but you have lost my trust in your products and eventually out 9 remaining fluke testers will be phased out and di-log now have our custom! Fluke charge a ridiculous amount for their products and their customer service is similar to McDonald’s!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money. I bought this tester (1664 FC) 3 years ago. I cannot now zero the leads and have been informed by fluke it has to be returned for repair (ERR1). I haven’t even enquired about a quote because wouldn’t you know, it’s just out of warranty. It may seem like a small issue but it becomes very inconvenient when you have to test the leads after every continuity test, because even the leads don’t have consistent readings. You expect products to eventually stop working but when you pay £1700 for a tester you’d expect it to last longer than 3 years. Honestly I would happily use any other competitor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Obsolete 1664FC I needed to upgrade my Fluke 1664FC to the latest standards, but having contact fluke they want £293+VAT + carriage to update the software/firmware, without the upgrade, having spent over £1000 for 1664FC in September 2021, will be unusable. Also the memory store function is not very user friendly, compared to the old models. I have used Fluke instruments for over 50 years, but not anymore

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unrealable Unfortunately, after very little use my Fluke 1664FC has stopped being able to provide reliable continuity measurements. I get off-scale readings when the leads are connected together or connected to a proving unit, to a variety of inconsistent readings on the next few presses of the button. I also get odd error codes which all leads to not being able to trust that the instrument can be relied upon to carry out the job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely disappointed multiple failures Having a 1653 for years and harsh environments- naturally thought the top of the range would be a sound investment. Lead failures, tester failures and a memory and Bluetooth system that is a gimmick and not used after about 5minutes novelty

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Purchased this as it was recommended I bought this about 3 years ago, test probe stoped working gave inaccurate readings. Contacted fluke out of warranty .very inaccurate readings.
