Measure voltage without test leads
The Fluke T6-1000 Electrical Tester with FieldSense™ technology lets you quickly, safely take True rms voltage and current measurements without test leads.
Unlike other fork testers that merely detect voltage, the T6-1000 makes actual measurements, without contacting a live, metallic conductor. Just slide the 17.8 mm open fork, the widest in the industry, over a conductor and read simultaneous voltage and current values. Or simultaneous frequency and current values. The open fork works with wires up to AWG 4/0 (120 mm2). Or, you can use the attached test leads to measure voltage DC to 1000 V.

Work on any jobsite
Make use of the HOLD button to temporarily freeze the reading on the screen so you can keep working with the same measurement up. Plus, the display features large, easy-to-read numbers and a backlight for darker work environments or inside cabinets. The T6-1000 works with the Fluke TPACK ToolPak™ Magnetic Meter Hanger to make it even more convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Austin from Handy and fast. The T6-1000 is a very effective tool for doing quick checks of the basics (voltage, amperage, resistance). While I wouldn't use it for trying to record exact measurements during testing, this tool is invaluable for troubleshooting.
The non contact voltage and amperage readings through field sense make it much quicker for verifying voltage on wires during troubleshooting.

I have used it for several days without any problems and I have observed the expected performance, the field sense function is very good to obtain current and voltage readings at the same time quickly the same for the frequency as long as a good ground is guaranteed and the cable is correctly placed between the forks, the measurement is very stable, in general you just have to get used to this new method, the rest of the functions are still very reliable. .. so far so good ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brian1983 from Time saver Had my T6-1000 for about 3 months and it rolls in each and every job with me every day for initial troublshooting. My only complaint is the meter did not come with a connector for the ground and the t-pak magnetic hanger. For what it costs it should be a complete kit that’s the only reason I could not give it 5 stars. Anyone reading this buy the holster for your belt right off the bat, This is definitely a goto meter for volts and amps. Get in and get the diagnostics down right off the bat. I’m an HVAC tech / Gas Fitter Natural Gas first responder so sometimes I get false alarms and it’s customers faulty equipment so for me this helps me test volts and amperage without having to take apart things and get the job figured out quicker ! Fluke of your reading this keep up the good work

Rated 5 out of 5 by elect supt trainer from Amazing new technology. Great safety improvement! Simply amazing. Live AC voltage, current, and frequency measurement with no contact even at zero current. No contact means reduced shock and arc flash hazards. Standard meters are fine, but testing without contact is much safer. I've just started to use it, but so far it works great. I worked for many years in plant maintenance and power distribution and now I train new workers. First impressions are that this is a tool that every electrical worker should have, particularly anyone that has to test and troubleshoot energized circuits. I'd still do the contact probe voltage test (which the T6 can also do) for lock out absence of voltage testing, but definitely use the non contact test for live troubleshooting and running measurements.

So far I have had 0 accuracy issues and have found the voltage tester a loy.more handy than I thought I would. As usual another phenomenal product from fluke! Buy with confidence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Big Ben from Great tool ! Bon outil ! Some body needed my T% more than I so he stole it from me. I had to choses between T5 or T6, I chosen a T6-1000 and I love it ! Very handy and the backlighting is great. Also the touchless sensin feature is great. Once again FLUKE came out with a nice features and as usual it is a very sturdy tester and I feel secure using there produts . Good job ! Benoit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sparks from Great New Features and Quality I bought this meter last week I was very exited to try this meter and it’s new features. I’ve always owned a T5-1000 and I’ve always wanted the features available with the meter. The backlight is great, the larger Jaw and ability to read up to 200 amps is a huge advantage and the Field sense option is very handy I’m still testing that and trying to find the most accurate way to take a reading so far I think you get a more accurate reading with the probe to ground over the finger touch pad on the back. The meter is well built, and I believe it we’ll be able to take abuse from the job conditions. I have yet to be disappointed with any Fluke product and I will continue to rely on Flukes quality and reliability.

Not haveing to pull the dead front to check voltage when needed. Faster, safer, services calls. Only down side is after a few weeks. My reading are higher. Voltage is 20volts to 25volts higher when I use the forks and me as the ground then when I use the ground probe the ground.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SB224 from Innovative features I have been hesitant to purchase the T6 due to the many negative reviews and all the users saying to wait for the next generation. As a commercial electrician and a self admitted toolaloholic (addicted to buying new tools) I decided to take the plunge. I must admit so far I have not experienced any of the issues many of the users have complained about. Once I figured how to utilize the "fieldsense" correctly, the readings are accurate. In the beginning I confirmed the results of the T6-1000 with my Fluke 376 just for good measure. It was spot on and reliable each time. The back light is definitely a nice feature as is the ability to read both current and voltage together at the same time. My only gripe is within the package containing the T6 as well as in the features description it says it is compatible with the TPAC hanging kit. That is false. My unit was manufactured in September 2017 and there is no way it is compatible. Whats up with that Fluke?? Also in my opinion there really should be an alligator clip included with the meter considering a solid ground connection is needed for the fieldsense to work properly. With that being said, I am still satisfied with the purchase. The T6-1000 is replacing the very used and abused T5 in my tool bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brian843 from Amazing Meter Hands down amazing. It's new technology meaning it's different. Once you figure out how to use it properly it's an amazing troubleshooting meter. I've had absolutely no problems with accuracy after I figured out how to use it correctly. I would love to see phase rotation on the next go around. I could care less that it doesn't read microfareds and probably not the best for residential. I use it all the time in commercial and industrial!! Revolutionary!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Old Man Chris from Tight little package . Bought one in Jan, used it lots already . Since I sometimes work on fire and security systems , I like the more capable Ohm ranges . Feild sence works well , and is handy to have . It’s a rugged compact instrument , carrys well on the belt . A lot easier than digging out my 87 ! If I could change anything , I would add a MegOhm range . Then I could leave the 87 in the toolbag .

Having the back light is a major plus. The field sense takes a few uses to get used to how it works. But it is really nice to see amperage and voltage at the same time while troubleshooting. All around another good fluke meter. The only complaint is the voltage is not super accurate. It’s within 10%.

When I ordered this meter in October, I was told an 8-10 week lead time. 4 months later, I finally receive my meter, and not only does the TPAK hanger not work with it, it will not read a proper ground, even when I connect the lead to a monitored ground connection. I love the idea, but this meter leaves a lot to be desired.

The field sense feature works great with the ground contact button on the back! I think it is important to know when to use the contact button or the black probe. I believe the T6-1000 Will perform well and give accurate readings for anyone that takes the time to learn how to use it properly. The one thing I am very disappointed/confused about is how the world are you suppose to use the TPAK magnet kit with this. I have a few meters with TPAK and I don't see how to put on this meter? Is there a new series of TPAK or???? I hope I don't have to spend more $$$ to get a different TPAK!
Over all very useful unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by wroosa from T6-1000 not a good choice I bought this meter with the intentions of using it in a healthcare environment to make trouble shooting easier and safer. Unfortunately this meter does NOT fit the bill AT ALL. First of all it requires you to touch a ground pad on the meter or use the ground(black lead) to establish a ground reference for the Field Sense to even operate and with the ground pad the voltage readings swing wildly and never settle out. Using the ground lead the reading settle out somewhat but still remain way out of range compared to two other meters I used to check against the T6-1000. Also an alligator clip is shown in the photos and naturally is not included and neither is a simple case or hanger. Im sorry but for this price point it should be a given that these things are a standard now. Don't worry there will be a Asian version for half the price that works better with all of the accessories within a year. I guess we lose again america. I will returning this unit a soon as possible

Rated 2 out of 5 by ScottD from Fieldsense is not quite ready for primetime yet! I ordered this new technology skeptically shortly after product announcement. And it's about what I expected, and have heard from others while waiting for it to arrive. The FieldSense for voltage is pretty unreliable without a connection from the black lead to a good ground. Using the only the backside ground button/pad, I've gotten readings anywhere from 0 volts to 347 volts (how coincidental is that??) from a single 120v conductor while standing on concrete in regular work boots. I can't even trust it to determine if ANY voltage is present, because it has indicated -0- volts on energized conductors, while indicating that it had an "acceptable" earth ground. Same issue exists even if I am touching a good earth ground point that works for the single-lead method; so grounding yourself doesn't appear to make it any more reliable, even if the screen shows you have a "good" earth ground connection. And yes, I had the both leads docked in the storage slots (this is important) while attempting the readings. Using FieldSense with the black/ground lead on a good ground seems to be reliable and accurate, so I'll give that method a thumbs up. Just wish it worked truly "leads-free".
The other features are worth the price though, love the backlit screen! Maybe this concept will get better in a few generations. So if you're thinking about a purchase, maybe hold off until the technology improves, accept FieldsSense as a "novelty" feature in lead-free mode, or go with the seemingly bulletproof T5.
