Fluke giving policy

Fluke makes cash donations and tool grants to qualified and selected nonprofit organizations to further its giving mission, which is to empower the people, technology, and sustainable practices that keep our world up and running by untapping potential and supporting solutions that accelerate our shared goal of a better community and world.

Nonprofits can determine their eligibility by reviewing our giving policies and requirements below. All applications must be completed using our online donation request form.

Is my organization eligible for a donation or grant?

The following two organization types are eligible for a donation or grant:
  • Organizations within the United States (U.S.) must be recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and classified by the IRS as a public charity.
  • Organizations outside the United States (U.S.) must provide information and documents to determine whether the organization is the equivalent of a U.S. public charity.
The following are not eligible for a grant:
  • Programs or organizations that re-grant or loan funds.
  • Programs which require exposure, adherence to, or conversion to any religious doctrine to be a beneficiary of the program.
  • Programs that discriminate against any person or population with regards to race, color, religion, sex, gender expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or other categories applicable by United States law.
  • Programs that involve any type of lobbying or other political activity.
  • Start-up/new nonprofits (those with less than one year of successful operations).
  • An organization with more than 25% overhead.

How does Fluke make their giving decisions?

Fluke prioritizes grants where the applying organization has a substantial focus in one of the following areas:
  • Advancing sustainability at a global level through innovative efforts that initiate, fortify, and promote renewable energy.
  • Building and supporting a skilled workforce through programs that focus on training, education, and certification in the trades, engineering, and technology that our communities rely on every day.
  • Extending education through STEM that creates and sustains opportunities for advancement where non existed before and whose purpose is to lift those who would otherwise be unable to realize their full potential.
  • Driving commitment to community engagement where when opportunity is abundant, people and their communities thrive.

When are applications due and how long does the review process take?

Fluke accepts applications year-round from charitable organizations. Grants are made on a quarterly basis but applicants should plan for a three-month decision period, plus additional time if product shipment is required. Priority is given to applications that clearly state goals of the funds/product and how impact will be measured.

Grant review cycles:
  • Q1: Jan-March
  • Q2: April-June
  • Q3: July-September
  • Q4: October-December
