Excellent tool, a true time saving instrument
This tool has saved me a great deal of time which is why it was purchased.
The VT02 is a great addition to any thermal imaging program. With this tool I can perform quick scans of panels to look for trouble spots. If something looks out of spec temperature wise I then switch to my Ti20 or Ti32 thermal imager for in depth analysis.
Please note, I bought this product to save time while doing certain diagnostics, not to replace my thermal imagers.

Maybe I received a lemon...
Pretty amazing technology overall. Mine works great indoors (95% of actual usage) but when taken outdoors, for taking measurements of an outdoor breaker panel for example, the camera gets very easily overloaded with light and the display flickers black to white repeatedly. If I hold sunglasses over the lower lens or completely cover it completely, the problem goes away. The thermal aspects work fine outdoors, it just seem like the camera is too sensitive to light. Like I say, maybe I got a lemon... I probably send it back for a check up at some point, but I don't want to be without it. Has anybody else tried it outside?

Inexpensive diagnostic tool
I perform a lot of commercial HVAC maintenance. This tool paid for it self on the first day. I found hot junction points inside compressor terminal connection boxes. We hired an electrician to trouble shoot why a breaker was going down randomly. This tool found a hot spot hidden in the electrical panel and was the root cause. I now use it on all my maintenance tasks from electrical panels to bearings and belts.

This is one of the most usefull instruments I have ever seen
I can seen a lot of advantages of maintenance people having this instrument to check out equipment and develop reports. Although I am not working at this time I am seriously looking at getting one for my own use and maybe some consulting. Fluke has come up with another great instrument and I will add it to my test gear.

This product has more uses than advertised
I currently use our fluke temp. instruments to locate frozen pipes. The new VT02 will let me show my customers where the cold is coming from, lack of or gaps in insulation at critical points along foundation walls or in corners of rooms where we find most frozen pipes. I will be checking with my local supplier today for a demonstration.

Magnificent cost benefit. memory cards can fail
The VT02 seems to be very practical and economical at the same time compared to traditional teams. Neither in the specifications or advertising know how to find the size of each saved image to estimate how many points we can store in memory. I think it would be safer than the VT02 had an internal memory to ensure stored images and then pass them to the Micro SD. Memory cards can fail.

I like the blended image adjustment feature. What will Fluke think of next?
The VT-02 can be used as close as 9 inches, nice!. The blended image feature provides the area detail while "seeing" the critical data. I really like the features, form and function. Great job Fluke!
