It can be said that Fluke CombiScopes are digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) with an analog mode built-in. Why? Because many users cannot rely only on the capabilities of a pure DSO. Furthermore, some signals do not take kindly to being digitized. Examples include simple AM signals, complex data streams and video signals. If you do not see what you expect, or do not trust what you see, just touch the button to switch operating mode.
Fast sampling rate
For repetitive signals the CombiScope PM 3390B & PM 3394B have a equivalent Sampling Rate of no less than 25 GS/s, (10 GS/s for PM 3380B/3384B). Equivalent sampling produces very high time resolution by reconstructing the waveform from different cycles. In this way you can view repetitive signals at a much higher resolution than would be possible with traditional sampling techniques. Additionally the CombiScope incorporates 200 MS/s single shot sampling.
Analog scope built-in
DSO's have their advantages, but nothing beats an analog scope's ability to display complex waveforms. You get faster updates and infinite display resolution, both critical when analyzing complex or modulated signals. With an analog scope there is no aliasing. If you doubt the digitized signal in the DSO mode, a simple touch of a button gives you the confidence of a second opinion, in the analog mode. For analog only users there is the
Deep memory
The long acquisition memory allows you to scroll through time windows up to 64 screens wide, for convenient viewing of single shot events. Alternatively you can have a higher time axis resolution across a single screen. This allows you to zoom in and study a particular part of the waveform, e.g. to analyze glitches that would otherwise have escaped your attention.
5 ns digital peak detection
The oversampling peak detector catches high speed events during real time sampling, finding glitches and eliminating aliasing. The digital peak detector in the CombiScope operates throughout the timebase settings, always displaying the true 100% value of the peak detected.
Video line counter built-in
A built-in video line counter with TV line and field triggering gives you the ability to view any line in an NTSC, PAL, SECAM or HDTV system.
Glitch trigger
With glitch triggering you can specify exactly the width of pulses or glitches to trigger on as well as the exact voltage level. You cannot be more precise than that! Glitch trigger will catch glitches as short as 2 ns (4 ns on 100 MHz models). Used with the oversampling peak detector, troublesome glitches have no escape.
Advanced triggering
Includes Glitch triggering, Logic state and pattern trigger (PM 3384B/3394B), TV triggering with built-in counter, HDTV, event delay and dual slope triggering for transient capture.
Interfaces
Full remote control is available with the RS-232-C (included with the instrument) and optional GPIB/IEEE-488 interface. Hard copy output to printers or plotters can be made with optional Centronix printer interface adapter. Transfer, archive, analyze and process waveforms using **link to FlukeView® for CombiScopes®.
Automatically for you!
With automatic attenuators and timebase (AutoRanging), automatic voltage and time measurements, automatic self calibration, automatic setup (Autoset), automatic cursors and optional automatic pass/fail, these instruments take all the hard work out of using a scope. When you try one in your application, your choice will be automatic too!
Math + option
Math + option is now included in all Combiscope B Series. Math + option includes additional test facilities like; FFT analysis, Histogram, Pass/Fail testing and more.
