| EVERETT, Wash. - Fluke Corporation, a leading supplier of test and measurement equipment, is introducing a new three-day course in 2008 designed to help engineers, laboratory managers and technicians develop uncertainty budgets.
The "MET-302 Hands-on Metrology Statistics" classroom training course introduces basic measurement uncertainty concepts in electrical, temperature, pressure and flow measurements. It also includes discussions on consumer risk (false accepts) and producer risk (false rejects) as referenced in ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, as well as the effects of guardbanding. Course material is based on "The ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement" and ANSI/NCSL Z540.2; and participants will receive a copy of "The Metrology Handbook" by the ASQ (American Society for Quality) Measurement Quality Division.
