Fluke Introduces 87V DMM that Delivers Accurate Readings Even on Difficult Adjustable-Speed Drives
Features innovative function for accurate readings on 'noisy' equipment; includes thermometer and helps protect users from electrical hazards
Everett, Wash. - Fluke, a world leader in test and measurement products and services, today introduced the Fluke 87V Digital Multimeter (DMM), a test tool designed to maximize productivity and safety in the most challenging industrial settings.

The advanced circuitry of the 87V is capable of accurately measuring voltage and frequency on adjustable speed motor drive systems. Such systems are increasingly common in industry, but create electrical 'noise' that baffles ordinary DMMs.

The 87V is equipped with a built-in thermometer and features larger display digits and a bright white backlight for easier reading in low-light environments. A magnetic hanger enables technicians to temporarily snap the tool onto steel panels where it is easily accessible, freeing their hands for other tasks.

The 87V DMM provides an important safety advantage. Rated for use in 600V CAT (category) IV and 1000V CAT III environments, the 87V is engineered to withstand voltage spikes of 8 kilovolts and help protect users against the hazards of arc flash. It is designed to meet the most rigorous safety standards, and its performance has been validated by independent testing organizations.

Available May 28, 2004 at most Fluke authorized distributors, the 87V DMM is priced in the US at $349. The 87V/E Industrial Electrician Combo Kit, which includes test accessories worth more than $100, is available for $399.
