Randy Barnett has over thirty-five years of industrial electrical maintenance and training experience. He is a graduate of the US Navy Nuclear Power School and learned the industrial electrical trade as an electrician in the submarine service. He has worked as a journeyman electrician in nuclear and coal-fired power plants, on railroad locomotives, in industrial manufacturing environments and in commercial and industrial construction. Greg Jourdan spent 26 years as HVAC professor at Wenatchee Valley College. His previous experience includes working with Honeywell, Siemens, and Alerton Controls. Greg has worked with commercial buildings, industrial facilities including food processors, hydro-power plants, and as an energy code evaluator for utilities. Greg’s education includes an AS degree in HVAC; BS in Industrial Technologies, with minor in Electronics/Electricity; and a Masters Degree in Technical Education. He is currently working on a PhD in Business and International Marketing. Greg has volunteered as coach for baseball and hockey, and loves to hike, fish, boat, and ski.

Chuck Newcombe has recently retired after a long career with Fluke, during which he conducted extensive market research to aid in product definition and new product design. He particularly enjoyed "job shadowing" technicians in many different disciplines, to learn about new processes and the problems maintaining them. His experience ranges from automated test system deployment and applications software development to production test system troubleshooting. He has presented countless seminars on measurement methods and applications, and has over 10 years’ experience on the subject of power quality. He currently consults on measurement methods, including power quality, and continues to present seminars focusing on the effects of power harmonics. He's also guilty of TV and radio repair, automotive electrical system rebuilds, and some really off-the-wall stuff.

Jack Smith is a writer, editor, consultant, and owner of BIT Communication, which provides writing, editing, and consulting to business, industrial, and technical clients. He has nearly 15 years in business-to-business publishing, including 10 years as managing editor at Plant Engineering magazine, where he covered electrical, automation and electronics-related topics. He has nearly 20 years experience working in technical industries such as instrumentation/control, automation, power generation, and contract manufacturing. Smith has a B.S. degree in journalism as well as training in electronics. He also holds memberships in IEEE and ISA.
